Your Recovery Cocktail
You learn many things in Mexico. You learn how to navigate new places. You learn to speak with confidence. You may even learn some new dance moves. This time I learned all about un suero. The ultimate Mexican hangover cure. Un suero doesn’t need much. In fact, you most likely have all the ingredients on hand and can make it in a cinch (even if it's you that is hungover.) The best part? Un Suero isn’t only for hangovers. It’s great for post workouts as well. Made with mineral water, salt, and lime, un suero is hydrating. It's full of trace minerals and electrolytes to replenish your reserves. Whether you feel like you need it or not, try un suero and see how you feel.
You’ll Need:
12 oz Sparkling Mineral water (Topo Chico is a preferred brand)
Juice of one whole lime (cut into quarters to garnish)
¾ teaspoon of salt + to rim the glass (add more to taste)
To Make:
1. Rim a highball glass with lime, dip into salt
2. Fill glass with cold mineral water. Add salt
3. Squeeze juice of whole lime into glass, stir to incorporate all
4. Add ice if desired
Enjoy cold and good luck!
